Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Annabelle: Creation) is composing the music for the upcoming noir thriller Serenity. The film is written and directed by Steven Knight (Locke, screenwriter of Eastern Promises & Dirty Pretty Things) and stars Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jason Clarke, Djimon Hounsou and Diane Lane. The movie follows a fishing boat captain who is forced to grapple with his mysterious past after a glamorous woman crashes up against his simple life on a small island in the Caribbean and leaves him questioning his reality. Guy Heeley and Greg Shapiro (The Hurt Locker, The Immigrant, The Conspirator) are producing the project. Serenity will be released on October 19, 2018 by Aviron Pictures.
Wallfisch’s other upcoming projects also include the film adaptation of The Darkest Minds starring Amandla Stenberg, Harris Dickinson & Mandy Moore (to be released in theaters on August 3), as well as the Gerard Butler-starring thriller Keepers, which has recently been picked up by Saban Films for domestic distribution.
