MovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for the Russian drama Mathilde. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Logan, The Hurt Locker, World War Z, Scream, The Wolverine) and performed by the Mariinsky Theatre Symphony Orchestra conducted by Valery Gergiev. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 16 and will be available to download on Amazon. Quartet Records has announced a CD version to be released in a couple of weeks. Mathilde is directed by Aleksey Uchitel and stars Danila Kozlovsky, Michalina Olszanska and Lars Eidinger. The movie tells the story of the tumultuous romance between the heir to the Russian throne, Nikolai Romanov, and a ballerina of the Imperial Theater, Mathilde Kshesinskaja, from the time they met in 1890 to the coronation of Nikolai and his wife Alexandra Fedorovna in 1896. The drama was released in select U.S. theaters this past December.
