Jeff Beal is scoring the upcoming biographical drama Bigger. The film is directed by George Gallo (screenwriter of Midnight Run & Wise Guys) and stars Tyler Hoechlin, Aneurin Barnard, Julianne Hough, Kevin Durand Robert Forster, Tom Arnold, Max Martini, DJ Qualls, Calum Von Moger and Steve Guttenberg. The movie tells the story of bodybuilding pioneer brothers Joe and Ben Weider, who against all odds, battled poverty and anti-Semitism to create the fitness industry as we know it. Gallo also co-wrote the screenplay with Brad Furman (The Lincoln Lawyer, The Infiltrator) & Ellen Furman and Andy Weiss. Steve Lee Jones and Scott LaStaiti (Jane Got a Gun, The D Train) are producing the project. Gallo’s previous two features, Middle Men and Columbus Circle were scored by Brian Tyler. Bigger is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.
Beal also continues to score Netflix’s House of Cards, which will return for its sixth and final season later this year. The composer’s recent feature projects include Rob Reiner’s Shock and Awe (which is currently awaiting a domestic distribution deal), as well as two documentaries that recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival: The Price of Everything and Generation Wealth (set to be released on July 20, 2018 by Amazon Studios).
