Ben Lovett is reteaming with director David Bruckner on the upcoming horror thriller The Ritual. The film starring Rafe Spall, Arsher Ali, Robert James-Collier & Sam Troughton follows four old college friends hiking through the Scandinavian wilderness into the ancient forests of Norse legend where something evil is stalking their every step. Joe Barton (Humans, iBoy) wrote the screenplay. Jonathan Cavendish (Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Bridget Jones’s Diary) and Richard Holmes (Waking Ned Devine, Eden Lake) are producing the Entertainment One production. Lovett has previously collaborated with Bruckner (Southbound) on 2007’s The Signal. The Ritual will be released in the UK this October. No word yet on a domestic release.
Lovett (Black Rock, Synchronicity, Don Peyote) also has the sci-fi thriller Night Sky directed by Jacob Gentry, as well as Dan Bush’s thriller The Dark Red coming up.
