Steven Price has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller American Assassin. The film is directed by Michael Cuesta (Kill the Messenger) and stars Dylan O’Brien, Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, Shiva Negar, Taylor Kitsch and Scott Adkins. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Vince Flynn and follows Mitch Rapp, a CIA black ops recruit and Cold War veteran Stan Hurley who are enlisted to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Stephen Schiff (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Michael Finch (Predators) and Edward Zwick (Glory, Legends of the Fall) & Marshall Herskovitz (The Last Samurai) wrote the screenplay. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers, Salt, RED) and Nick Wechsler (Magic Mike, Under the Skin, The Player) are producing the project. American Assassin will be released on September 15, 2017 by CBS Films/Lionsgate.
