Will and Brooke Blair are scoring the upcoming indie drama The Scent of Rain & Lightning. The film is directed by Blake Robbins and stars Maika Monroe, Maggie Grace, Brad Carter, Logan Miller, Justin Chatwin, Mark Webber, Will Patton, Bonnie Bedelia and Aaron Poole. The movie is based on a novel by Nancy Pickard and follows a young woman who is forced to confront old wounds and the destructive power of hate when she learns that the man who killed her parents has been released from prison. Jeff Robison & Casey Twenter (Rudderless) have written the screenplay and are also producing the project with Grace, Jeff Johnson, Kevin Waller and Michael Davis. The Scent of Rain & Lightning is expected to premiere later this year.
The Brooke brothers’ previous scoring credits include Blue Ruin and Green Room, which is currently playing in theaters. Their other upcoming projects also include the thriller Edge of Winter. The film is directed by Rob Connolly and stars Joel Kinnaman, Tom Holland, Percy Hynes-White and Rachelle LeFevre. The movie centers on two brothers who are stranded by a brutal winter storm with an unpredictable father they barely know. Kyle Mann (Wrecked) is producing the project. No premiere date has been announced yet for the film.
