Victor Reyes is currently scoring the upcoming AMC and BBC original mini-series The Night Manager. The 6-parter is directed by Susanne Bier (In a Better World, After the Wedding) and stars Hugh Laurie, Tom Hiddleston, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander, Elizabeth Debicki, David Harewood, Neil Morrissey, Katherine Kelly and Tobias Menzies. The series is based on the novel of the same title by John Le Carre (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Constant Gardener) and follows a former British soldier who is recruited by an intelligence operative to navigate the shadowy recesses of Whitehall and Washington where an unholy alliance operates between the intelligence community and the secret arms trade. Stephen Cornwell & Simon Cornwell (A Most Wanted Man, Our Kind of Traitor) are executive producing the project for The Ink Factory, alongside Stephen Garrett (MI-5, Life of Mars), David Farr (Hanna) and Polly Hill for the BBC. The Night Manager is set to premiere in 2016 in the U.S. on AMC and in the UK on BBC.
Reyes whose previous scoring credits include Buried starring Ryan Reynolds, Red Lights starring Robert De Niro and Grand Piano starring Elijah Wood & John Cusack also has the thriller Newcomer coming up. The movie is directed by Kai Berry and stars James Floyd, Noémie Merlant, Predrag Ejdus and Anthony LaPaglia. The movie follows a member of a special ops espionage team for the U.S. government who finds himself accused of orchestrating the failure of his first mission in Belgrade by his own agency. The thriller premiered at this year’s Raindance Film Festival and is awaiting a domestic distribution deal.
