Jonathan Goldsmith has signed on to score the upcoming indie drama Unless. The film is directed by Alan Gilsenan and stars Catherine Keener, Hannah Gross, Brendan Coyle, Matt Craven, Chloe Rose and Hanna Schygulla. The movie is based on the last book by Canadian novelist Carol Shields and centers on a writer whose oldest daughter who drops out of college and lands on a Toronto street corner panhandling and speechless. Jennifer Kawaja & Julia Sereny (Touch of Pink), Tristan Orpen Lynch (Young Ones, Jimi: All Is By My Side) and Aoife O’Sullivan are producing the project. Unless is currently in post-production.
As previously reported, Goldsmith (Away from Her, Casino Jack) also has the thriller Forsaken starring Kiefer Sutherland coming up. The movie will have its world premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival. He is also expected to return to score the second season of Netflix’s Between.
