Marc Streitenfeld is set to score the upcoming drama Lowriders. The film will be directed by Ricardo de Montreuil and is set to star Melissa Benoist, Demian Bichir, Eva Longoria, Tony Revolori, Gabriel Chavarria, Theo Rossi and Yvette Monreal. The movie follows a teenager caught between his traditional father and estranged gangbanger brother who are both competing in the annual lowrider “Supershow.” Josh Bierne-Gordon and Justin Tippin have written the screenplay based on previous drafts by Cheo Hodari Coker and Elgin James. Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, 24, Friday Night Lights) is producing the project for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, Sinister) for Blumhouse Productions. Lowriders will be released by Universal Pictures. No production start date and release date have been announced yet. (Variety)
