Carlo Siliotto has signed on to score the upcoming martial arts epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend. The film is directed by Yuen Wo-Ping (Tai Chi Master) who has served as the martial arts choreographer on The Matrix trilogy and Kill Bill and stars Michelle Yeoh who is reprising her role as Yu Shu-Lien from the original film, as well as Donnie Yen as Silent Wolf. Harry Shum Jr., Jason Scott Lee, Roger Yuan, Eugenia Yuan and Natasha Liu Bordizzo are co-starring. No plot details have been announced yet, but the movie is said to tell a story of “lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption”. John Fusco (Marco Polo, Young Guns, Hidalgo) has written the screenplay based on the novel Iron Knight, Silver Vase by Wang Dulu. Harvey Weinstein (The King’s Speech, The Artist) is producing the project with Peter Berg & Sarah Aubrey (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor). Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) and Ralph Winter (X-Men franchise) serve as executive producers alongside Anthony Wong and Bey Logan. Tan Dun has previously composed the music for Ang Lee’s 2000 original film and received an Academy Award for his score. Siliotto’s previous film scoring credits include The Punisher, Under the Same Moon, Instructions Not Included, Fluke and Nomad: The Warrior, for which he received a Golden Globe nomination. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend is set to premiere on Netflix and in selected IMAX theaters on August 28, 2015.
