Roque Banos is set to compose the music for the upcoming biblical epic Risen. The film is directed by Kevin Reynolds (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Waterworld, The Count of Monte Cristo) and stars Joseph Fiennes, Tom Felton, Peter Firth and Cliff Curtis. The movie tells the story of the Resurrection and the weeks that followed, as seen through the eyes of an unbelieving Clavius, a high-ranking Roman Military Tribune. Mickey Liddell (The Grey, Go, Disconnect, Everwood) is producing the LD Entertainment production with Patrick Aiello (As Above, So Below, The Double) and Pete Shilaimon (In Secret). Risen will be released on January 26, 2016 by TriStar Pictures.
As previously reported, Banos whose previous scoring credits include Evil Dead, The Machinist, Oldboy and Sexy Beast also has Ron Howard’s In the Heart of the Sea starring Chris Hemsworth, as well as Alejandro Amenabar’s Regression starring Emma Watson & Ethan Hawke coming up.
