Jeff Beal is scoring the upcoming CBS mini-series The Dovekeepers. The two-parter is directed by Yves Simoneau (Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee) and stars Cote de Pablo, Rachel Brosnahan & Kathryn Prescott in the title roles, alongside Diego Boneta & Sam Neill. The series is based on Alice Hoffman’s bestselling novel and follows a group of extraordinary women whose lives intersect in a fight for survival at the siege of Masada. Roma Downey & Mark Burnett (The Bible, Son of God, Survivor) are executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Simoneau, Frank Siracusa (Beauty and the Beast, Hobo with a Shotgun), John Weber (Vikings, The Borgias). Ann Peacock (The Chronicles of Narnia, Nights in Rodanthe) has adapted the material for the small screen. The Dovekeepers is set to premiere on March 31 & April 1, 2015 on CBS. Beal whose previous scoring credits include such shows as Rome, Monk, Carnivale and Ugly Betty and the features Pollock, Appaloosa and Blackfish has also recently scored the third season of Netflix’s House of Cards, which is now available to stream. Varese Sarabande will release a third soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music from the show this spring.
