BT announced on Twitter that he has composed music for the upcoming mystery thriller Dark Places. The movie is written and directed by Gilles Paquet-Brenner (Sarah’s Key) and stars Charlize Theron, Chloe Grace Moretz, Nicholas Hoult, Christina Hendricks, Corey Stoll, Tye Sheridan Drea DeMatteo, Andrea Roth and Sterling Jerins. The film is based on a novel by Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl) and follows a woman who survived the massacre of her family as a young girl and testified against her brother and is confronted by a secret society obsessed with solving notorious crimes 25 years later. Cathy Schulman (Crash, The Illusionist), Matthew Rhodes (Southland Tales, Passengers), Matt Jackson (End of Watch, Snitch), Stephane Marsil (Adventures of Arsene Lupin), Beth Kono & AJ Dix (The Butterfly Effect, Sleepwalking) are producing the project. As previously reported, Gregory Tripi has completed a score for the project last year. The movie will feature both Tripi’s score, as well as tracks by BT. Dark Places is expected to premiere later this year by A24 Films.
BT’s upcoming projects also include Solace starring Colin Farrell & Anthony Hopkins. The composer who is best known for his EDM records has previously scored such films as The Fast and the Furious, Monster, Driven, Go and Catch and Release.
