Toby Chu has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC drama State of Affairs. The show is created by Alexi Hawley (Castle, Exorcist: The Beginning) and stars Katherine Heigl, Alfre Woodard, Sheila Vand, Adam Kaufman, Cliff Chamberlain, Tommy Savas and David Harbour. The series follows a top CIA analyst who assembles the president’s Daily Briefing, which lists the most vital security issues facing the nation. Heigl is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Ed Bernero (Criminal Minds), Dario Scardapane (The Bridge, Trauma), Nancy Heigl, Robert Simonds (The Wedding Singer, Cheaper by the Dozen), Julia Franz (Men at Work), Henry Crumpton, Rodney Faraon and Sophie Watts. Joe Carnahan (Narc, Smokin’ Aces, The A-Team) has directed the pilot episode and also serves as an exec producer. Chu also continues to score the USA hit series Covert Affairs, which is currently in its fifth season.
