Tyler Bates has scored the pilot for the Amazon Studios original drama Hysteria. The show is created by Shaun Cassidy (Invasion, Roar) and stars Mena Suvari as a neurologist who returns to her hometown of Austin, Texas to investigate the case of a girls’ competitive dance team that is stricken by a strange, psycho-physiological illness that spreads through social media. T.R. Knight, James McDaniel, Josh Stewart and Ella Rae Peck are co-starring. Otto Bathurst (Peaky Blinders) has directed the pilot episode and is also executive producing the project alongside Cassidy, Adam Schroeder (The Truman Show, Sleepy Hollow, Chronicle), Sharon Hall, Andrew Kosove & Broderick Johnson (Prisoners, The Blind Side, Insomnia) and Bryan Zuriff (The Details). Amazon collaborated with Universal Television and Alcon Television Group on the show. The pilot episode premiered today and is now available to stream on Amazon Instant.
Bates whose most recent project Guardians of the Galaxy currently is on top of the domestic box office also has the action thriller John Wick starring Keanu Reeeves and the horror thriller 7500 coming up.
