The full details of the soundtrack album for David Cronenberg’s drama Maps to the Stars have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silence of the Lambs, Hugo). The soundtrack will be released on September 9, 2014 by Howe Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released a single featuring a track from the composer’s score earlier this year. Maps to the Stars stars Julianne Moore, John Cusack, Mia Wasikowska, Robert Pattinson, Olivia Williams, Evan Bird and Sarah Gadon and tells the story of an archetypical Hollywood dynasty, including a psychotherapist, who has made a fortune with his self-help manuals. The drama premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released in several international territories over the next couple of months. No domestic release date has been announced yet.
