La-La Land Records has announced a remastered re-issue of the soundtrack for the 1980 drama Altered States directed by Ken Russell and starring William Hurt, Blair Brown and Bob Balaban. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Corigliano (The Red Violin, Revolution) who received his first Academy Award nomination for his score. The soundtrack for the Warner Bros. Pictures production is limited to 2500 copies. The label has also announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1985 family sci-fi drama D.A.R.Y.L. directed by Simon Wincer and starring Mary Beth Hurt, Michael McKean and Barret Oliver. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch (Ordinary People, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Informant!), as well as the original song Somewhere I Belong, written by Hamlisch/Pitchford and performed by Teddy Pendergast.
