Stephen Endelman has recently recorded his music for the upcoming comedy Squirrels to the Nuts. The film is directed by Peter Bogdanovich (The Last Picture Show, What’s Up, Doc?, Paper Moon) and stars Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson, Kathryn Hahn, Imogen Poots, Will Forte, Cybill Shepherd, Rhys Ifans, Lucy Punch, Ahna O’Reilly, Jake Hoffman, Austin Pendleton and George Morfogen. The movie follows a married Broadway director who meets a call girl and tries to convince her to change her life. Bogdanavich has also co-written the screenplay with Louise Stratten. Wes Anderson (The Grand Budapest Hotel, Moonrise Kingdom) and Noah Baumbach (Greenberg, Frances Ha) are producing the project with Holly Wiersma (Bobby, Bug), Logan Levy and music supervisor George Drakoulias. Squirrels to the Nuts is expected to premiere later this year.
Endelman whose previous film scoring credits include Home of the Brave and Evelyn has also scored the crime drama Rob the Mob, which is currently playing in select theaters. The composer is also scoring the upcoming ABC Family drama Chasing Life. The show is based on the Mexican television series Terminales and stars Italia Ricci, Mary Page Keller, Haley Ramm and Richard Brancatisano. The series follows a twenty-something, aspiring journalist who is trying to work her way up the ladder at a Boston newspaper and finds out from her uncle that she has cancer. Aaron Kaplan (Terra Nova, The Neighbors) is executive producing the Lionsgate Television production with Susanna Fogel & Joni Lefkowitz (Life Partners).
