Marius de Vries (Coda, Kick-Ass, Strange Magic, Sucker Punch, Navalny) will serve as the executive music producer on the upcoming comedy It’s Alright. The film is directed by Scott Stewart (Legion, Priest) and will star Paul Bettany, Asha Banks (who is also contributing original songs to the project), Colin Firth and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. The movie follows a fading pop star who is on the edge of financial ruin when a bombshell letter spurs him to meet his 19-year-old daughter who has no idea he exists. Stewart and Bettany also co-wrote the screenplay. Trish D Chetty (Luther: Never Too Much, Kickback) & Ged Doherty (Eye in the Sky, Loving) are producing the project for Raindog Films, alongside Jessica Rhoades (Station Eleven, Below) for Pacesetter Productions. Production on It’s Alright is scheduled to begin early 2027. (Variety)
As previously reported, de Vries also has Rania Attieh’s & Daniel Garcia’s drama Queen of the Falls (starring Pamela Anderson & Guy Pearce) coming up. He has also recently scored Frank Marshall’s & Nigel Sinclair’s documentary Pete Townshend: Behind Blue Eyes, which premiered at this year’s Telluride Film Festival and is currently awaiting a release date.
