Nainita Desai (Nautilus, For SamaThe Deepest Breath, The Tower, The Reason I Jump, Funny Woman, Tales of Kenzera: ZAUThe TowerCrossfireSecrets of the Penguins) has composed the original score for the new BBC drama The Split Up. The show’s story and characters are created by Ursula Rani Sarma (Delicious) based on the 2018 series The Split (created by Abi Morgan and scored by Isobel Waller-Bridge & Evan Jolly) and stars Ritu Arya, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Aysha Kala, Arian Nik, Dimitri Leonidas, Danny Ashok, Mawaan Rizwan, Shalini Peiris, Sindhu Vee and Tom Forbes. The 6-part series is set in the charged world of Manchester’s high net worth divorce circuit and revolves around a powerhouse British South Asian family firm, and the go-to for the city’s elite.  Sarma and Morgan (Shame, The Iron Lady) are also executive producing the SISTER Pictures & Little Chick production with Jane Featherstone (Chernobyl, Black Doves), Bryony Arnold (Code of Silence), as well as Nawfal Faizullah (The Tourist, Lord of the Flies) for the BBC. The Split Up will premiere in the UK this Sunday, September 20 on BBC One and will also be available to stream on the BBCiPlayer.
