Composer John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Hocus Pocus, The Emperor’s New Groove, Liar Liar, The Princess Diaries, Horizon: An American Saga) is reuniting with director Jon Favreau (The Mandalorian and Grogu, Chef) on the upcoming Disney+ limited live-action/animated hybrid series Oswald. The show is written and directed by Favreau and stars Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryder Allen, Amy Sedaris, Kathryn Hahn, Steve Martin, Al Madrigal, Mykal-Michelle Harris. The 3-parter is based on the cartoon character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit created by Walt Disney & Ub Iwerks in the 1920s. Favreau is also executive producing the project. Debney has recently been recording his orchestral score in Los Angeles. The composer has previously scored Favreau’s features Elf, Zathura, Iron Man 2 and The Jungle Book. Oswald will premiere in February of 2027 on Disney+.
Also coming up for Debney is Adam Shankman’s The Man with the Bag, which will premiere this holiday season on Prime Video.
