The film’s original music is composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino (Lost, Up, The Batman, Jurassic World, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Trek). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 500 theaters is the comedy thriller I Want Your Sex written and directed by Gregg Araki and starring Olivia Wilde, Cooper Hoffman, Mason Gooding, Daveed Diggs, Chase Sui Wonders and Charli xcx. James Clements (Now Apocalypse, Bottom of the World, The Blackout Experiments). has composed the film’s original music. No word on soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a fresh-faced young man who lands a job with an artist and provocateur who taps him to become her sexual muse and takes him on a journey into a world of sex, obsession, power, betrayal, and murder, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed by Magnolia Pictures.
Opening in select U.S. theaters this weekend is the Japanese historical drama The Samurai and the Prisoner written and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and starring Masahiro Motoki, Masaki Suda, Yuriko Yoshitaka, Munetaka Aoki, Tasuku Emoto, Ryota Miyadate and Joe Odagiri. The film’s original music is composed by Yoshihiro Hanno (Mountains May Depart, Winter Boy, Revolver Lily, The Best Is Yet to Come). Plaza Mayor Company has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past May when the movie premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. Also opening in select theaters today following a release on VOD this past Tuesday is the action thriller The Gentleman Thief directed by Randall Emmett and starring John Travolta, Lukas Haas, DJ Khaled, Sam Asghari and Quavo. Yagmur Kaplan (Armor, Cash Out, Border Hunters, Alarum, Exit Protocol, High Rollers, Deadlock) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which follows a master thief who gets lured from retirement to steal a priceless painting and outsmart a ruthless kingpin’s deadly trap, is being released by Vertical.
