Bucks Records has released the first-ever soundtrack album for the 2005 German/Polish romantic period drama The Call of the Toad (Unkenrufe) directed by Robert Gliński, based on the novel of the same title by Günter Grass and starring Matthias Habich and Krystyna Janda . The album features the film’s original score composed by Richard G. Mitchell (A Good Woman, Moby Dick, Oddity, To Kill a King, Born American, Grand Theft Parsons, Basil) and performed by the Warsaw Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tadeusz Karolak. The Call of the Toad tells the story of a German art historian who falls in love with a Polish art restorer and – together – start returning the remains of Polish German war exiles to the homeland. The drama opened in German and Polish theaters in 2005.
