David Arnold (Casino Royale, Independence DayStargateSherlockTomorrow Never Dies, Good Omen, Shaft) is retuning to score the upcoming animated special Mog’s Bad Thing. The film is directed by Robin Shaw (We’re Going on a Bear Hunt) and features the voices of Adjoa Andoh as the Narrator, Benedict Cumberbatch, Claire Foy, Amelie Law, Teddy Skelton, Katherine Parkinson, John Thomson, Mawaan Rizwan and Amelia Theodorou. The Lupus Films production is based Judith Kerr’s children’s book of the same title and follows the titular tabby cat who hides in the attic feeling sorry for herself when her family is hosting a cat show in their garden which should be her chance to shine. Joanna Harrison wrote the screenplay. Ruth Fielding and Camilla Deakin (Kensuke’s Kingdom, The Snowman and The Snowdog) are producing the project. Arnold has previously scored 2023’s first Mog special, Mog’s Christmas. and also collaborated with the filmmakers on the animated short The Tiger Who Came to Tea Arnold. Mog’s Bad Thing will premiere in the UK this holiday season on Channel 4.
