First Artists Recordings has released a soundtrack album for the Mexican thriller On the Road (En El Camino). The album features the film’s original music composed by Andrea Balency-Béarn (The Head of Joaquín Murrieta, Dance of the 41). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and most other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the composer’s first track after the jump. On the Road is written and directed by David Pablos and stars Osvaldo Sanchez and Victor Prieto Simental. The movie follows a world-weary trucker and a reckless young hitchhiker who form an uneasy alliance that quickly turns intimate and dangerous. The thriller premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and will be released in Mexican theaters tomorrow, June 4. Strand Releasing has picked up domestic distribution rights for a release in the U.S. later this year.
