Music Box Records has released a new soundtrack album featuring two scores composed by Academy Award nominee Philippe Sarde (The Tenant, Tess, Lord of the Flies, Quest for Fire, Ghost Story, Barocco, Pirates, Nelly & Monsieur Arnaud). Titles include the world premiere release of the composer’s score from the 2010 Israeli drama The Matchmaker written and directed by Avi Nesher and starring Adir Miller & Tuval Shafir, as well as a remastered version of his music from the 1989 thriller Music Box directed by Costa-Gavras and starring Jessica Lange, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Frederic Forrest & Lukas Haas. The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track and listen to audio samples. Varese Sarabande has previously released the original soundtrack for Music Box in 1990. The Matchmaker is now available to stream on Prime Video and Music Box is available on VOD and DVD.
The label’s other new releases include a CD featuring three scores by Georges Delerue from 1970s films: Les Caprices de Marie, Julie pot-de-colle & L’Ingénu; and an album featuring three 1970s scores composed by Claude Bolling: Le Mur de l’Atlantique, Deux Grandes Filles dans un pyjama & Qui ?.
