Composer Larry Groupé is reteaming with director Rod Lurie on the upcoming World War II action thriller Lucky Strike. The film is co-written (with Marc Frydman) and directed by Lurie and stars Scott Eastwood, Colin Hanks, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Taylor John Smith. The movie inspired by true events tells the story of one soldier trapped behind enemy lines during the last major German offensive during World War II who – armed only with his Motorola SCR-300 radio – must use his wits and spy craft to thwart the advancing Nazi Panzer army and find his way back home. Lurie and Frydman (Stonewall) are also producing the project with Millennium Films’ Jonathan Yunger (Red Sonja, Hellboy: The Crooked Man), Les Weldon (The Expendables franchise, The Hitman’s Bodyguard) and Yariv Lerner (Angel Has Fallen, Rambo: Last Blood). Groupé has previously scored most of Lurie’s directorial efforts, including The Contender, Nothing But the Truth, Resurrecting the Champ, Straw Dogs, The Outpost & The Senior, as well as his ABC drama Commander-in-Chief. Lucky Strike will be released in theaters on June 26, 2026 by Roadside Attractions & Saban Films.
