Christopher Spelman has recently composed the score for the upcoming drama Paper Tiger. The film is written and directed by James Gray (Ad Astra, Little Odessa) and stars Adam Driver, Scarlett Johansson and Miles Teller. The movie follows two brothers pursuing the American Dream who have to navigate their way through the dangerous world of the Russian mafia when they become entangled in a scheme that turns out to be too good to be true. Gray is also producing the project with Rodrigo Teixeira (Call Me By Your Name, The Lighthouse), Anthony Katagas (12 Years a Slave, Nerve), Raffaella Leone (Madly, Love Me, Love Me), Gary Farkas (Lux Æterna), Marco Perego (The Absence of Eden), Carlo Salem and Andrea Bucko (Dead Man’s Wire). Spelman has previously scored Gray’s features The Lost City of Z, The Immigrant & Armageddon Time and also collaborated with the filmmaker on Two Lovers (as music adaptor/arranger) and We Own the Night & The Yards (as music consultant). Paper Tiger will premiere this weekend at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and will be distributed in the U.S. by Neon.
