Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout & Dead Reckoning, His Dark Materials, Top Gun: Maverick, Black Widow, Black Adam, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, The Wheel of Time) has been hired to score the upcoming drama The Species. The film is directed by Justin Chadwick (Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, The Other Boleyn Girl) and stars Charlotte Rampling, Anthony Hopkins, Mia McKenna-Bruce and Tom Hollander. The movie follows recently widowed Emma Darwin who – following the death of famed naturalist Charles Darwin – finds herself locked in a battle with her son and a pushy publisher over her husband’s autobiography. Jacob Killion wrote the screenplay. Christian Taylor (Measure of a Man, Hick) is producing the project for Taylor Lane Productions, alongside Mary Aloe (Mary, Mara) for Aloe Entertainment.
