Composer Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, Green Book, GOAT, Haunted Mansion, Dear White People, The Color Purple, Space Jam: A New Legacy) is reteaming with director Reinaldo Marcus Green on the upcoming Marvel Television special presentation The Punisher: One Last Kill. The special stars as Jon Bernthal who returns as Frank Castle and follows the character as he searches for meaning beyond revenge, when an unexpected force pulls him back into the fight. Bernthal & Green also co-wrote the screenplay. They are also executive producing the project with Kevin Feige (Avengers: Endgame, Black Panther), Louis D’Esposito (WandaVision, Moon Knight), Brad Winderbaum (Loki, Wonder Man) and Sana Amanat (Daredevil: Born Again, Ms. Marvel). Bowers has previously collaborated with Green on the features Bob Marley: One Love, King Richard, Monsters and Men and the TV show We Own This City. He also scored the Marvel limited series Secret Invasion for the producers. Tyler Bates has composed the music for the original 2017 The Punisher Netflix series. The Punisher: One Last Kill will premiere on May 12, 2026 exclusively on Disney+.
As previously reported, Bowers also has Prime Video’s Spider-Noir (co-scored with Michael Dean Parsons) coming up and is also expected to return to score the fifth season of Netflix’s Bridgerton.
