Plaza Mayor Company has released a soundtrack album for the drama Calle Málaga. The album features the film’s original music composed by Freya Arde (Riefenstahl, The Corridors of Power, The Hidden Life of Trees, My Extraordinary Summer with Tess, Turning Tables, Ever After, Almost Fly).The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track after the jump. Calle Málaga is co-written and directed by Maryam Touzani and stars Carmen Maura, Marta Etura, Ahmed Boulane and María Alfonsa Rosso. The movie, which has been selected as Morocco’s entry in the International Category for this year’s Academy Awards, tells the story of a 79-year-old Spanish woman who finds herself at odds with her adult daughter who has begun, without first consulting her mother, the process of selling the family home in Tangier. The drama premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and was released in select U.S. theaters earlier this month by Strand Releasing.
