Also opening nationwide is the post-apocalyptic survival thriller Greenland 2: Migration directed by Ric Roman Waugh and starring Gerard Butler, Morena Baccarin, Roman Griffin Davis, William Abadie, Amber Rose Revah, Sophie Thompson and Trond Fausa Aurvåg. Also opening wide is the drama I Was a Stranger written and directed by Brandt Andersen and starring Yasmine Al Massri, Yahya Mahayni, Omar Sy, Constantine Markoulakis, Ziad Bakri, Jason Beghe, Massa Daoud and Ayman Samman. The film’s original music is composed by Nick Chuba (ThelmaShogunThe Girl from Plainville, Devil in Disguise: John Wayne Gacy, Dr. Death, Operation Varsity Blues, Appendage). No word on a soundtrack release. Opening in select theaters this weekend following an awards-qualifying run last month and before expanding nationwide next Friday is the hostage thriller Dead Man’s Wire directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Bill Skarsgard, Dacre Montgomery, Myha’la, Al Pacino, Kelly Lynch, Cary Elwes and Colman Domingo. Danny Elfman (BatmanSpider-Man, The Nightmare Before ChristmasEdward Scissorhands, BeetlejuiceAvengers: Age of Ultron, Alice in Wonderland) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Also opening in select theaters this weekend following an awards-qualifying run in December is the psychological drama The Chronology of Water co-written and directed by Kristen Stewart and starring Imogen Poots, Thora Birch, Esme Creed Miles, Charles Carrick, Tom Sturridge, Kim Gordon, Susanna Flood, Michael Epp and Jim Belushi. The film’s original music is composed by composer, performer and violinist Paris Hurley (aka Object As Subject) who has made her feature scoring debut on the project. Also opening in select U.S. theaters this weekend is the comedy drama My Neighbor Adolf co-written and directed by Leon Prudovsky and starring David Hayman, Udo Kier, Olivia Silhavy and Kineret Peled. Lukasz Targosz (My Name Is Sara, Putin, Moomins and the Winter WonderlandAll My Friends Are Dead, Spy/Master, The Coldest GameThe Thaw) has composed the film’s original music. The composer has released a soundtrack album featuring his score back in 2022 following the movie’s premiere at the Locarno Film Festival.
