Composer Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, Sinners, The Mandalorian, Creed, Turning Red, Community, Venom) is reteaming with director Christopher Nolan (The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar) on the upcoming mythic action epic The Odyssey. The film is written and directed by Nolan and stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o and Charlize Theron. The movie is based on Homer’s ancient Greek epic of the same and follows the title character on his 10-year trek home following the Trojan War. Nolan is also producing the project with Emma Thomas (Dunkirk, Man of Steel). Göransson has previously scored Nolan’s last two features, Oppenheimer and Tenet. The Odyssey will be released in theaters nationwide on July 17, 2026 by Universal Pictures.
Also coming up for Göransson is Jon Favreau’s Star Wars feature The Mandalorian and Grogu (to be released in theaters on May 22, 2026).
