Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the. Japanese animated feature Scarlet. The album features the film’s original music composed by Taisei Iwasaki (Belle, Bullet Train Explosion, First LoveBlood Blockade Battlefront). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, November 21 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s first track (Limbo) below. Scarlet is written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and features the voices of Mana Ashida, Masaki Okada and Kôji Yakusho. The Studio Chizu production tells the story of a medieval-era, sword-fighting princess who goes on a dangerous quest to avenge the death of her father and – after failing at her mission and finding herself gravely injured – encounters an idealistic young man from our present day. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Venice Film Festival and is opening in Japanese theaters this weekend, will receive an awards-qualifying theatrical release in the U.S. on December 12 from Sony Pictures before opening nationwide on February 6, 2026.
