Jongnic Bontemps (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Redfall 4400, My Name Is Pauli Murray, Madea’s Destination Wedding, United Skates, Wedding Season, World’s Best) has recently scored the upcoming Netflix original series Boots. The show is created by Andy Parker inspired by Greg Cope White’s memoir The Pink Marine and stars Miles Heizer, Max Parker, Vera Farmiga, Liam Oh, Cedrick Cooper, Angus O’Brien, Ana Ayora, Dominic Goodman, Nicholas Logan, Kieron Moore, Rico Paris and Blake Burt. The comedy drama follows a bullied teen who impulsively joins the U.S. Marine Corps and finds new purpose – and unexpected brotherhood – with his motley team of fellow recruits. Parker is also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with showrunner Jennifer Cecil (The Umbrella Academy, Private Practice), as well as Norman Lear & Brent Miller (One Day at a ime, Good times), Rachel Davidson, Scott Hornbacher (Mad Men, The Last Tycoon), as well as Peter Hoar (It’s a Sin, Nolly) who also directed the first episode. Boots will premiere on October 8 exclusively on Netflix.
