Composer Alberto Iglesias (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Constant Gardener, The Kite Runner, Exodus: Gods and Kings) is set to reteam with director Pedro Almodóvar on the upcoming comedy drama Bitter Christmas (Amarga Navidad). The film is written and directed by Almodóvar and stars Bárbara Lennie, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Aitana Sánchez-gijón, Patrick Criado, Victoria Luengo, Milena Smit, Rossy De Palma and Quim Gutiérrez. The movie follows an advertising director and workaholic who doesn’t give herself time to mourn her mother’s death and decides to travel to the island of Lanzarote. Agustín Almodóvar is producing the El Deseo production. Iglesias has previously scored all of the director’s features over the last three decades, including such titles as Volver, Parallel Mothers, The Skin I Live In, All About My Mother, Talk to Her, Pain & Glory and last year’s The Room Next Door. Bitter Christmas will premiere next year and will be distributed in the U.S. by Sony Pictures Classics.
