Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1970 historical drama The Molly Maguires directed by Martin Ritt and starring Sean Connery, Richard Harris, Samantha Eggar and Frank Finlay. The CD features the film’s expanded original score composed and conducted by Henry Mancini (The Pink Panther, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Charade, The Thorn Birds, Santa Claus: The Movie), including around 20 minutes of previously unreleased music, as well as revised and alternate versions. Also included is Charles Strouse’s unused score for the project, which has previously been released as part of an expanded score release by Kritzerland in 2012. The soundtrack is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. The Molly Maguires is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
The label has also announced a new vinyl release of Mancini’s soundtrack for Blake Edwards’ Breakfast at Tiffany’s (click here for more information). As previously reported, Quartet has also released new soundtracks for Edwards’ The Pink Panther and Darling Lili as part of the label’s Mancini at 100 celebration.
