Benjamin Backus (A Week Away) has composed the original score for the upcoming thriller Homestead. The film is directed by Ben Smallbone (Priceless) and stars Neal McDonough, Dawn Olivieri, Bailey Chase, Kearran Giovanni, Susan Misner and Tyler Lofton. The movie takes place after a nuclear bomb is detonated in Los Angeles and the nation devolves into unprecedented chaos and follows an ex-Green Beret and his family as they escape to The Homestead, an eccentric prepper’s fortress nestled in the mountains. Ben Kasica & Jason Ross wrote the screenplay based on the book Black Autumn by Jeff Kirkham & Ross. Smallbone & Kasica are also producing the project with Andrea Royer. Homestead will be released in theaters nationwide on December 20, 2024 by Angel Studios. A TV show (Homestead: The Series) that continues the story will debut on Angel.com following the film’s release.
