Composer Christophe Beck (Ant-Man, Frozen, Free Guy, WandaVision, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Pink Panther, The Muppets) is reteaming with director Doug Liman on the upcoming heist thriller The Instigators. The film starring Matt Damon, Casey Affleck, Hong Chau, Michael Stuhlbarg, Ving Rhames, Paul Walter Hauser, Jack Harlow, Alfred Molina, Toby Jones & Ron Perlman follows a desperate father and an ex-con who are thrown together to pull off a robbery of the ill-gained earnings of a corrupt politician and find themselves engulfed in a whirlwind of chaos, pursued not only by police, but also backwards bureaucrats and vengeful crime bosses. Casey Affleck also co-wrote the screenplay with Chuck MacLean (City on a Hill). Damon is also producing the project with Ben Affleck & Jeff Robinov (Air), John Graham (Hypnotic), Kevin J. Walsh (Manchester by the Sea, House of Gucci) and Alison Winter (Chaos Walking, Locked Down). Beck has previously collaborated with Liman on the features Edge of Tomorrow, American Made and this year’s Road House reboot. The Instigators will be released in select theaters on August 2 before premiering on August 9 on Apple TV+.
As previously reported, Beck also has Marvel Studios’ Disney+ series Agatha All Along (to premiere on September 18, 2024) coming up.
