Mark Korven (The Black Phone, The Witch, The Lighthouse, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, Cube, Night Swim, The Peripheral) has recently been scoring the upcoming supernatural horror prequel The First Omen. The film is directed by Arkasha Stevenson and stars Nell Tiger Free, Tawkeef Barhom, Ralph Ineson, Sonia Braga and Bill Nighy. The movie follows a young American woman who is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, when she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate. Stevenson also co-wrote the screenplay with Tim Smith and Keith Thomas (Firestarter, The Vigil) based on a story by Ben Jacoby. David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, The Sandman) and Keith Levine (The Night House, Hellraiser) are producing the project. The First Omen will be released in theaters nationwide on April 5, 2024 by 20th Century Studios.
As previously reported, Korven also has Adam Schindler’s & Brian Netto’s Don’t Move (co-scored with Michelle Osis) coming up.
