John Lunn (Downton Abbey, The Last Kingdom, Shetland, The White Queen, The White Princess) is returning to score the new MGM+ original series Belgravia: The Next Chapter. The show is developed by Helen Edmundson (Dalgliesh, Mary Magdalene) based on the original 2020 series created by Julian Fellowes (Gosford Park) and stars Harriet Slater, Benjamin Wainwright, Toby Regbo, Sophie Thompson, Hannah Onslow, Claude Perron, Alice Eve, Sophie Winkleman, Elaine Cassidy and Richard Goulding. The drama picks up in 1871, three decades after the events depicted in the original series (scored by Lunn) and tells the love story of Frederick Trenchard, the third Lord Trenchard, and his new love interest, Clara Dunn, who is a newcomer to London society. Edmundson serves as the project’s showrunner and is also executive producing the Carnival Films production with Fellowes, Gareth Neame (The Gilded Age, The Hollow Crown), Nigel Marchant (Jamestown, Salting the Battlefield) and Joanna Strevens. Helen Edmundson serves as showrunner and executive producer. Lunn’s music from the original series was released by Lakeshore Records. Belgravia: The Next Chapter will premiere in the U.S. tomorrow, January 14 on MGM+.
Lunn also continues to score ITV’s Grantchester, which just launched its eighth season and has been renewed for a ninth season.
