Roger Suen (Blue Bayou, Spy Intervention Gook, Ms. Purple, A Kid from Coney Island) has recently been scoring the new Paramount+ original movie Love in Taipei. The film is directed by Arvin Chen (Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?) and stars Ashley Liao, Ross Butler, Nico Hiraga, Chelsea Zhang and Cindy Cheung. The YA romance is based on Abigail Hing Wen’s best-selling novel Loveboat, Taipei and follows a young American woman who is sent by her parents to a cultural immersion program in Taipei, where she begins a new journey of self-discovery and romance. Charlie Oh and Mackenzie Dohr wrote the screenplay. Matt Kaplan (To All the Boys series, Before I Fall, XO, Kitty) is producing the project for Ace Entertainment. Love in Taipei will premiere on August 10, 2023 exclusively on Paramount+.
Suen’s other recent projects include the action comedy The Retirement Plan, which will open in theaters on August 25.
