Paolo Buonvino (Medici Fathers & Daughters, Romanzo Criminale, Fatima, Quiet Chaos) has been hired to score the upcoming Italian Netflix limited series The Leopard (Il Gattopardo). The show is developed by Richard Warlow (Ripper Street, The Serpent) based on the classic novel of the same name by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa and stars Deva Cassel, Kim Rossi Stewart, Saul Nanni, Benedetta Porcaroli, Francesco Colella, Paolo Calabresi, Astrid Meloni and Greta Esposito. The 6-parter is set against the backdrop of revolution in 1860s Sicily and follows the Prince of Salina who leads a life surrounded by beauty and privilege, but realizes that his family’s future is in jeopardy. Tom Shankland (Les Miserables, Rogue Heroes) is the historical drama’s lead director. Warlow is also executive producing the project with Fabrizio Donvito (Human Capital, Last Night of Amore). The Leopard is expected to premiere in 2024 on Netflix.
