La-La Land Records has announced the world premiere release of the unused score from 2001 comedy Rat Race directed by Jerry Zucker and starring Rowan Atkinson, John Cleese, Whoopi Goldberg, Seth Green, Cuba Gooding Jr, Wayne Knight, Jon Lovitz, Kathy Bates, Breckin Meyer, Kathy Najimy and Amy Smart. The CD, which is limited to 1,000 copies, features the film’s rejected score composed and conducted by Elmer Bernstein (The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird, Ghostbusters, Far from Heaven, Airplane, Stripes, Animal House) and will be available to order on the label’s official website at noon today. John Powell’s replacement score and a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie were released in 2001 by Beyond Records. Rat Race is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.

I used to think this was a remake of the other movie Elmer Bernstein scored called Rat Race. Looking more into it, I was wrong.
