Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album featuring three scores from British 1960s films composed by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with Wolves, Goldfinger, Out of Africa, Somewhere in Time, Indecent Proposal, Body Heat, The Man with the Golden Gun, Chaplin). The album features the composer’s newly remastered music from the 1965 drama Four in the Morning written and directed by Anthony Simmons and starring Ann Lynn, Judi Dench, Norman Rodway, Brian Phelan & Joe Melia, the world premiere release of his score from the 1962 British romantic drama The L-Shaped Room written and directed by Bryan Forbes and starring Leslie Caron, Tom Bell, Bernard Lee, Brock Peters & Cicely Courtneidge, as well as his opening and closing titles music from 1966’s Dutchman directed by Anthony Harvey and starring Shirley Knight & Al Freeman, Jr.. The soundtrack is now available to order as a CD, which is limited to 1,000 copies, on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release.
