Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature The Violinist (La Violinista). The album features the film’s original music composed by Ricky Ho (Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale, Legends of the Condor Heroes: The Gallants) and Isabel Latorre (Unicorns, Valenciana). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to Ho’s end titles track after the jump. The Violinist is directed by Ervin Han & Raúl García and features the voices of Kheng Hua Tan, Ayden Sng, Kazuya Tanabe, Adrian Pang, Rong Fang and Enrique Arce. The movie follows music journalist who uncovers a decades-long mystery stretching from 1930s Singapore through World War II, tracing how a single violin bound together an affluent girl and an orphaned musical prodigy over 80 years of history. The animated drama, which premiered at this year’s Annecy International Animation Film Festival, where it won the Best Film award, just opened in Singapore earlier this month and will be released in Spanish theaters this November. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
