Laura Karpman (American FictionCaptain America: Brave New World, Miss Marvel, The MarvelsDown Cemetery RoadParis Can WaitWhat If…?, Set It Up, Duster, Marvel Zombies)  is scoring the upcoming Netflix limited series East of Eden. The show is developed by Zoe Kazan (Wildlife, Ruby Sparks) based on John Steinbeck’s classic novel of the same title and stars Florence Pugh, Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, Hoon Lee, Ciarán Hinds, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton,  Joe Anders and Joseph Zada. The 7-part drama directed by Garth Davis (Lion, Mary Magdalene) & Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (Mustang, Lady Chatterley’s Lover) follows the Trask family through generations shaped by ambition, betrayal, and the haunting, indelible antihero Cathy Ames. Kazan, Pugh, Davis & de Clermont-Tonnerre are also executive producing the Fifth Season & Anonymous Content production with co-showrunner Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive), as well as Antoine Douiahy (Our Flag Means Death, Archive 81), Zack Hayden (Saint X), Steve Golin (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Spotlight), David Levine (Nickel Boys, Remarkably Bright Creatures) and Jill Arthur (American Classic). East of Eden will premiere on October 1, 2026 exclusively on Netflix.

Karpman’s other recent scoring projects include Claire Scanlon’s romantic comedy The Love Hypothesis, which will premiere on September 23 on Prime Video. She is also expected to return to score the second season of Apple TV’s Down Cemetery Road.
