The details of the soundtrack album for Jane Schoenbrun’s horror feature Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma have been announced. The album features selections of the film’s original score composed by Alex G who previously scored Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow & We’re All Going to the World’s Fair. Also included is the original song Pain Is the Heart of Love written by Alex G featuring lyrics by Schoenbrun and vocals by Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile (already available now as a digital single), as well as other songs from the movie by R.E.M., Sally Shapiro, Counting Crows, Donna Lewis and Okay Kaya. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 21 and physically (on CD, cassette & vinyl) later this year by Waxwork Records. Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma is written and directed by Schoenbrun and stars Hannah Einbinder, Gillian Anderson, Amanda Fix, Arthur Conti, Eva Victor, Zach Cherry,Sarah Sherman, Dylan Baker, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Kevin McDonald, Quintessa Swindell, Patrick Fischler and Jack Haven. The movie, which follows a young director who inherits the Camp Miasma slasher franchise for resurrection, premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and has been released in select U.S. theaters last weekend by Mubi before expanding nationwide next Friday.
