Kevin Kiner (Narcos: Mexico, Doom Patrol, CSI: Miami, Peacemaker, Hell on Wheels, Making a Murderer, Wing Commander), Sean Kiner & Deana Kiner are the composers of the new Disney+ original animated series Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord. The show is created by Dave Filoni (The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett), developed by Filoni & Matt Michnovetz and features the voices of Sam Witwer (in the title role), Gideon Adlon, Wagner Moura, Richard Ayoade, Dennis Haysbert, Chris Diamantopoulos, Vanessa Marshall, Charlie Bushnell, David C. Collins, A.J. LoCascio and Steve Blum. The Lucasfilm Animation production is set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars and follows Maul as he is plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire, where he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who could be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge. Filoni & Michnovetz are also executive producing the project with Athena Yvette Portillo, Matt Brad Rau, Carrie Beck (Light & Magic) and Josh Rimes (Young Jedi Adventures, Star Wars: Visions). Kevin Kiner has previously collaborated with Feloni on the animated Star Wars shows The Clone Wars, Rebels, The Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi/Empire and also scored the live-action series Ahsoka. Sean & Deana Kiner co-scored and provided additional music to the more recent seasons. Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord will premiere on April 6, 2026 exclusively on Disney+.
The composers also continue to score Prime Video’s House of David, which just returned for its second season earlier this week, as well as AMC’s Dark Winds, which will conclude its fourth season next week and has already been renewed for a fifth season. A first soundtrack album for the latter series will be released next month.
