Madison Gate Records will release a soundtrack album for the ITV/BritBox drama The Lady. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Ivor Novello Award nominee Chris Roe (The Salt Path, Blue Jean, Bad Apples, Trigger Point, Wolf, After Love, Nine Bodies in a Mexican Morgue, Lancaster). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, March 18. Listen to the composer’s fourth track (A Whole New Person) written for former royal dresser Jane Andrews’ transformation scene (in Episode 1), where she changes her accent, hair, and style to fit into palace life, after the jump. The Lady is written by Debbie O’Malley, directed by Lee Haven Jones and stars Mia McKenna-Bruce, Natalie Dormer, Ed Speleers, Philip Glenister, Ophelia Lovibond, Claire Skinner, Laura Aikman, Daniel Ryan, Mark Stanley and Sean Teale. The 4-parter follows the rise and fall of Andrews, who worked for Sarah, Duchess of York, before her 2001 conviction for the murder of her boyfriend Thomas Cressman. The series premiered in the UK last month on ITV and will make its U.S. debut tomorrow on BritBox.
